US planning to recruit one in 24 Americans as citizen spies

After WWII the Eastern European citizenry plunged into the darkness of mistrust, paranoia, and clandestine meeting places to write or speak with their known friends because of the restrictive regulations implemented by the communist governments. One particular country comes to mind, Romania. There, one couldn't trust his or here own father or sister let alone neighbor for fear of being discovered writing against the communist system or speaking in terms contrary to the establishment or the interest of the people. As a result Romania has yet to pull herself out from the economic woes and place herself on to a path of progress. Even if they were to implement the perfect system people must have trust in it and each other, otherwise, fogettabotit! This is or should I say, will be a mistake.

People are molded by their environment and circumstance. You have no right to judge anybody's actions so long as they are not directly harmful to you or the nation.
