"Everybody knows that Little Richard is responsible for country music as we know it today, Holy cow...the constantly self-aggrandizing Richard IS greatly responsible for rock and roll as we knew it (along with Chuck Berry, rock's first superstar guitarist), and never lets us forget it. But I have NEVER heard him lay claim to being one of the progenitors of country music. Country music was among the influences that produced his revolutionary sound.
but the only country music performer of color was Charlie Pride."
So what the heck do you want? Some sort of government program to help create the black Garth Brooks? Has this moron even considered how few black people buy country music, much less play it?
As a black man, it shocks and disappoints me how ignorant many black "leaders" are.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahah!
ROTFLMAO!
Go for it!! I have been boycotting 'RAP' since it hit the airwaves.

As a black man, it shocks and disappoints me how ignorant many black "leaders" are. It also disappoints me how some black people are so sensitive to idiocy of other black people, they will even believe parodies until they read between the lines. :)

Holy cow!
Anybody told Charlie Pride yet?

Arnold Ziffle was actually an FBI informant for Hoover. Oliver Douglas went broke at farming and started suing local business owners like Haney & Drucker. Seems Oliver got the FTC and UL after Haney for faulty products and Drucker was steaming open everyones mail. Sarah the switchboard operator was sued for a monopoly on the phone company and it was split and sold to Hank Kimble and Ralph Monroe Kimble Dawson. Oliver handled the Kimble divorce as well. Lisa ran off with Newt Killey after the locust ate all the valleys crops. Modernization killed Hooterville :>} OH BTW Oliver had a very profitable moonshine business and used the farm for a write off.

Luvs Bob Wills! Have you seen that new boxed set? (I must confess I don't like distress) Ever since I heard Asleep at the Wheel's 2 CD tribute to Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, I've been wanting to pick up some original Bob Wills music. I must admit I wasn't aware of his influence and talent before that. What do you recommend?

Actually, Big Al Downing was a great country singer, and he was black. I wouldn't trade my 1982 Big Al album with "Mr. Jones," "Touch Me," "Darlene" and other great cuts for all the pap ever churned out by Garth Brooks.

The Rev. Mohammed X. Bagheera should have picked Johnny Horton as his race bait, instead of Honky Hank Williams. He would then have at least a shred of credibility . . .

Speaking of country music stations...get a load of this.
To: parsifal
I thought it was a good attempt at humor myself.

And speaking of "por" attempts at humor...
It should be N "triple A" CP.
National Assoc. for the Advancement of African-American Colored People.
Latinos need not apply.
They're "colored people" too aren't they?

"Take that song "Rawhide" for example. "Rope and throw and brand em" refers to marking slaves. "Tumbling tumbleweeds" is code-talk for runaway slaves.""
Well, if that's true, then these songs had to have been written during slavery or shortly thereafter. Now, since Rawhide was written as the theme for a TV show of the same name, either slavery existed for a lot longer than we've been told, or TV was invented by Abraham Lincoln.

If this dude is for real,I wonder what he'd think of David Allen Coe's notorious references of the black race.
To: parsifal
Since black people rarely listen to country music how would this botcott have any effect?

I'll bet the good deacon will be washing his hands of Bagheera after Parsy's breaking news. LOL

What about Happy Trails to You?
I always thought that was about the Underground Railroad.
