"No offense Torie, but this article, while lengthy, comes off as thinly veiled hit piece and not much more."

I agree. I intend to suscribe...it will be refreshing to read a Conservative magazine that has done its research and is good for more than wrapping fish like the Nat'l Review!

I am NOT " over reacting, I am NOT a " SIR, and, as long as you are going to hurl spurious slurs around, peasant, go look in the nearest mirror, as to just which one of us needs some help.

I once though VERY highly, of Keyes. Then, he pulled that race card hustle once to often, That was it, for me. His drooling sycophants, just don't get it ; though, they certainly see the mote, in other people's eye... when the HUGE beam, in their's, is just a beauty mark, to them.

Punishment, not conquest, should be the reponse to any threat abroad.
Our troops should be put on our borders, whose defence is their Constitutional perogative.

Those who doubt the veracity and sagacity of these two statements is ignorant of the intent of our founding fathers and wishes to promulagate the misbegotten foreign policies of every Democratic president of the 20th century and half of the Republican ones. There is one other possibility; perhaps you long for Atzlan?

Bricker was a big fan of McCarthy.

My kind of guy. But then, I'm not an anti-anticommunist.

BTW, recently released Soviet archives sugest that McCarthy underestimated Communist subversion of our society and government.

...the maddogs who advocated war against Spain over the Maine.

If only the war with Spain had stayed planely about the Maine.

We could have done very nicely without the Phillipines and Puerto Rico.

Of course The New Republic is liberal. That's why it's so often quoted by neocons. Neocons hate the paleo right, not their neoliberal cousins.

I am sorry, but like most neocons I don't agree with Buchanan on anything. I consider him an invariable political opponent, to be resisted at every turn.

Of course you do. Liberals have always hated conservatives like Buchanan. Neocons are nothing more than Cold War Liberals, who having lost the Democrat Party to a harder left, now wield power in the GOP and masquerade as "neoconservatives".

Well, I'm NO " neo-con ", and I haven't liked / agreed with Pat for a long time, now. So, there goes that theory, of your's, completely blown out of the water. : - )

Yeah, but you just say you haven't agreed with Pat.

To be a neocon you have to hate him. Imply he's a Nazi, accuse him of "flirting with Fascism", rejoice that he's leading the kooks and the tinfoil hatters out of the newly purified GOP.

You need to froth at the mouth a bit. Denounce him as a humourless hatemonger. A racist xenophobic isolationist. Simply disagreeing just won't do. You won't get invited to the best parties that way.

When will Presidential failure-ites such as Pat Buchanan ever realize :

They never had the image - face to be President , never had and never will have the looks and persona , and that they would do more good by humbling themselves by creating people's PAC's helping to raise money and do ads to get real Conservatives in who will do the right things for this country , preserving our quality of life , honor , and freedom from the commie Democrat party ? The creative , humorous, and patriotic ad ideas to be had for these kinds of ads are endless.

Did you know that a non-connected political action committee ( un-connected to the two parties ) through being registered wwith the FEC( for Federal PAC s - Feederal candidates supporting /oppossing )( through their state for State PAC - State candidates ssupporting /opposing ) can do it's own radio , mass mailer ,T.V. , billboard and cable and e-mail ads on behalf or against any candidate they wish ? Did you know they can say anything they want not being beholden to any party for saying the ' WRONG ' thing ?

Did you know they can do this when not in an election year ?

They can also raise $ and contribute $ to candidates . So why don't they do it ? 7/13/02

Sincerely , voa-davidk

"But to millions, they have replaced the good country we grew up in with a cultural wasteland and a moral sewer that are not worth living in and not worth fighting for--their country, not ours"

Pat really wrote this? I guess it confirms my observation about the anti-America right.

That figures. You neocons naturally prefer Clinton era social mores to those of the Eisenhower era.

There's a huge difference between critizising the excesses of contemporary culture and stating that America is a "sewer" no longer "worth living in and not worth fighting for".

Yep, we must hold Pat down while we advance globalism. Hes got too big a mouth to let loose.

Whenever Pat pops up, you must be ready to shout him down.

He may affect the agenda of globalists, socialists, communists, and all fellow travelers.
