Excusez moi? Well, if you searched under the only "title" in the e-mail -- The Right to Leave -- you will find niento, zero, nada, zilch. So sorry you took the unnecessary trouble of posting your unhelpful post. And as I said already, most people posting here, unlike you, are reading this editorial for the first time and benefitting from it -- unlike your post. You know, I always see posters posting how some thread or another was already posted, and I am glad it was reposted because usually I am reading it for the first and only time! I also always wondered if the people who chime in to say a post was posted are anal-retentive. Some people should learn how to communicate in the civilized world. This is not the wild, wild west where you come out of the gate with your guns cocked no-holds-barred. Do you know what the word "polite" means, Luis? Finally, I think I should point out to you that you have an unalieanable "right to leave" this thread! There -- tit for tat, you big bore. Go and make another thread stuffy. There, I am done with you, Luis. Now, on to my next subject: And you non-religious patriots can also leave and I wouldn't give one flying shi_. Am I right in inferring that in addition to your not wanting religion and patriotism mixed, you also do not look up to your creator? If this is true, then I must ask you who the hell you think created you? Or do you think you hail from a line of freakin' amphibians? No offense meant towards amphibians. Yeah, you non-religious patriots do have a right to voice your unreligious opinion; and thank God I have a right to voice my support of religious patriotism. I often wonder if atheists or agnostics change their stripes in a war or other troubling situation....

My "unhelpful post"?

I guess we are in this forum to lend you help?

Get over yourself...

Perhaps, once you gotten over your hissy fit, it may dawn on you that people would like browsing the comments from other threads, and other FReepers...but hey! FR is about YOU isn't it? We are all to "help" you.

Let's also just keep cluttering the site posting the same article over, and over, and over again until YOU get to read it.

Let's talk about "polite" OK darling?

Polite is taking the time, effort, and energy to not clutter this site with repeated postings of the same mass e-mail that only YOU received, and then, another "polite" thing to do, would be to notify the site Administrators of that fact, so that your duplicate posting be removed.

By the way, I am very capable of communicating in the "civilized" world, I'm not the one throwing the little tantrum, you are.

The most important right that I have, is the right to speak freely, a right that you, seem to wish to take from people. I have a right to be on this thread (I was flagged to it by the way), I have a right to point out the wasted site resources, and I have a right to comment freely on whatever I wish to comment on, darling.

"And you non-religious patriots can also leave and I wouldn't give one flying shi_. Talk about impolite...and crude.

Smile girl, Jesus loves you...even with that potty mouth, and crappy attitude.

Oh, and one last thing...try HTML, it would make your little rants easier to read.

Vanity On Duplicate Threads

This is just a reminder that before one posts an article, one should check to see if the article has been previously posted in order to avoid duplication.

Duplication causes several problems. Just like the old Monty Python skit about spam, if the same thing is posted over and over, it can drown out other valid posts. It needlessly consumes system resources. It fragments discussion.

In general, moderators will pull duplicate postings when we are alerted to them or when we notice them. This has the benefit of eliminating the "spam" effect and it helps keep discussion from being fragmented. However, it does not really save system resources, and it can be frustrating when one is about to reply to a thread and it vanishes (due to being a duplicate). A better solution is for people to take care to ensure they are not posting a duplicate.

To avoid duplicate postings, some things can help. First, when posting, search to see if the article has already been posted. Load up the "Latest Posts" page and scroll down it to see if the same article is there. Check the sidebars. And use the FR search engine.

Second, do not change the title of an article when posting it. Doing so makes it less likely that another searching to see if an article was posted will find the earlier copy.

Third, don't be in a rush to "be the first" to get an article up. Really, is there a big need to do so?

Also, here is a tip for using the FR search engine. Only words that are four or more letters are examined, so searching on "Pim" or on "CIA" will not accomplish anything.

Finally, I will add that not all duplicates are removed. On the day an article is published, if several hours (four or more) have passed since the article had last been posted, we will tend to leave it up if it is reposted (unless it is still visibile in a sidebar) to make it so that people who don't scroll back several pages will not miss an article of current relevancy. However, this should not be overdone or abused or this may change... more
