Before the juries entered the courtroom, Richard Nichol, an employee at Chuck's Self-Serve Mobil, 540 W. State St., was called to provide information about verbal altercations Morris [the victim] had been involved in since the July incident. Nichol said one incident began in September when a number of people were yelling in the parking lot. Ithaca Police officers were called to the scene.

"After I told her to leave the store, she threatened me about six times," Nichol said.

This January, Nichol said Morris entered the store again to make purchases when she began arguing with him. "After five minutes of arguing, I took the milk off the counter and told her to leave," Nichol said. "She told me, you're not coming out of here alive tonight."
