Do you mean that once she found out you weren't for clinton/gore she stopped talking to you? That's a shame if that's the way it turned out. What's annoying is that by avoiding the topics, by avoiding discussing it..change will not occur..and things will remain status quo.

Many things are better left "unsaid." Even if it means breaking off the friendship. I know from experience.

No. We talked quite a bit for awhile. I tried to enlighten her to the truth about clinton----WH coffees, John Huang, Loral and that kind of thing. She would not believe it. We started to feel a strain as the election really got into gear after the spring primaries and we just kind of stopped talking as frequently. We did not talk at all (unspoken mutual agreement) during the aftermath of the election---too stressful. I was literally on my knees praying for one outcome and was in no mood to debate the issue! Now we get along fine, just not as close as it looked like we were going to be. Right now I am sure she believes that GWB did something wrong in the Harken matter. I wouldn't be able to convince her otherwise, so I save my breath and the strain.

I should add, I have been saying on other threads on other topics regarding media attacks on the President that it is so important that we speak up. There are people who are open to this and others that won't be, however. She is one who is not open to other than the DNC fax machine party line.
