wild animals would find it within hours, I reckon. The bug guy said flies would find it within 20 minutes, just based on the natural openings in the body.

To me, this is the only witness, for either side, who seemed intelligent. Maybe that is why I place stock in his expertise.

I do believe that the animals would "smell " it within hours Kim..not days . Did ya ever see pictures of vultures circling newly killed prey?

I suspect (but do not know for sure )That if the body were out in the open when it was "fresh" most of it would have been devored..

Just this week I ran over a squirrel on the way to the store. On my way home...less than an hour later...turkey vultures were munching on it.
