All this fiber evidence has me confused! If the sheet wasn't found with the body why are they looking at the fibers that were on it? Or aren't they doing that? I had the impression that the sheet came from DW and that's why the fibers were so important. I'm sorry if this has been covered, but could you help clear this up?

Several people confused the white plastic sheet the ME use to wrap a body in before they put it in the body back with a bed sheet. They then assumed it was from the perp and with addition facts and fictions things sort of got confused. Does this help?

They are saying the fibers from her body fell onto the white sheet, that's why it is used, to preserve evidence from the body.

Fibers on the sheet could also have come from the ground she was on..it is a dump site.

The fibers found on her/body sheet are similiar to the ones found in DW's environment....which could have come from the same source or could not have.

The source is still unknown.

All this fiber evidence has me confused!

If you are like the jury, then Dusek and the DA have done exactly what they intended to do.
The sheet was from the coroner's office. Its used to surround the recovered body and use as a temporary "liner" for the body bag.
The fibers found on the body and on some of the vegetation around the body have some similarities with fibers found from many sources.

In fact, hold on while I sober up have a lucid moment ... :)

I recall that the dump at Delhesa Road was a dump for tires as well as for old blankets and mattresses. If one has ever looked at an old mattress or old box spring, they OFTEN have a BLUE/GREY material covering them. I wonder where those blue fibers that MAY have a common source could have come from... hrmm...

The sheet was from the ME's office. From the ME's testiony on June 5:

Q. WHY DO YOU PLACE A WHITE SHEET INSIDE THE BODY BAG? 22 A. AGAIN, SO IF THERE'S ANY TRACE EVIDENCE THAT FALLS 23 OFF THE BODY, GOES ON THE SHEET, AND THE EVIDENCE TECHS TAKE 24 THIS AND THEY CAN LOOK AT THE SHEET.

Sorry if someone else answered this, but I am just catching up from last night's comments.
