I must admit to not hearing every second of the testimony - but I don't recall either of the Laspisas using the word puzzling. Of course DW never spent just 12 hrs. in the desert with Dave - this was when he had not found his friends - not when he had. I thought it was Debbie who said under cross that DW had not met them out there before without his toys. His ex, however, did say they had been to Glamis without the toys - that must have been a time when they did not see the Laspisas
