Yes, Snow Bunny - there's a new kind of woman in America, capable and enjoying all of life, not simply hogtied to the kitchen with apronstrings..:))

I had no brothers, so learned early to be versatile - helped my Dad survey our acreage property lines when I was 11 (with me on the transit and he on the rod), took over the yard chores then, at the same time as I began sewing my own clothes and embroidering and playing the piano and doing the whole crossword puzzle in the Miami Herald.
Later took mechanical drawing in high school, the first girl to do so in an old era..:)))
True American Woman - breaking the mold after Rosie the Riveter paved the way!

Like you, Snow Bunny, I love to browse in Home Depot and Lowe's, and get timbers to build new flower beds, and plan and help build decks, etc.
I even replaced the sliding glass doors to the deck in North Carolina, altering the opening to fit the different size.
Heck - I helped finish remodeling a three-bedoom house in Alaska for extra money to keep from being hungry, living on inadequate military pay, and painted the whole interior with no heating system in an overcoat in 35 degree temperatures.

There is no loss of femininity in having and developing skills and doing what needs to be done.
It...um...pays to be (no chortles and guffaws here, Bad Boyz!) 'well-rounded'!!!

LOLOL

LOL! Me too! I love doing everything! I also have built things, and when it is too heavy, I hire someone to do the work but tell them exactly how to do it! :)))) There are few things in life that I will not try to do , and few that I do not enjoy doing. My girls are just like me in that regard.
