I'll believe the GAO

They have a lot of good info, and are a cold analytical unit like engineers. Being responsible to both the White House and Congress, all political tints, they can't get far out of line. Of course they can look only at what they asked to look at, so the right questions must be asked. Ask your congresscritter and he might ask the GAO.

Don't make the question too inclusive or the Democrats in the GAO will find a reason to delay and delay the inquiry. Getting the full truth out isn't their best habit, slanted truth is much more preferable.

Don't make the question too inclusive

That's probably good advice. A narrow focus of inquiry would be preferred, somewhat like searching a database or the Internet.

His wife is also another book learned environmentalist.

Pam Eaton is the Regional Director of The Wilderness Society's Four Corner States office in Denver. She began her tenure with TWS in 1988 in Washington, DC, as program assistant for the Refuges Program and later its director, where she worked on Endangered Species Act reauthorization and efforts to strengthen management of the National Wildlife Refuge System, among others.

Pam came to TWS directly from graduate school where she earned a M.S. in natural resource policy at the University of Michigan; she received a B.A. in geology from Yale. Pam has worked for the National Park Service as a wildlife researcher at Denali National Park in Alaska, and as an instructor at the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander, Wyoming.

Pam is on the Alumni Board of Governors at the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment. Pam was married in 1996 to Ted Zukowski, an environmental attorney. She enjoys bird watching and back-country travel.

I can't quote you chapter and verse, but I have seen many GAO reports that firmly support a liberal slant.

They may be cold analytical engineers, but I guess the questions that produce the reports I refer to, are coldy calculated as well.

Coming from politicians looking to back up their own unsupported and outragous claims, the questions would assume the answer. The GAO staff can do no more than dig out the data and try to respond to the question.
