I know the debate is over immunity only and Bush has said numerous times that we will NOT sign the court thing. I just don't like the way this sounds. BUT, since you and Howlin both say to wait and see I will. This is the first time I've been insecure about Bush's policies. Well the deal with giving minorities grants to buy homes didn't go over to well either, but that's politics as usual. This better be too.

OK, please remember this when you see propaganda from the likes of leftist media outlets like ABC.

We have withdrawn our signature from this ICC treaty, Therefore congress will never get the chance to vote on it.

The debate is over immunity... Period

Our position is.... NO IMMUNITY.... NO PEACE KEEPING FORCES.

This story is about the USA willing to debate the issue while guaranteeing the immunity of our troops from being subject to this Kangaroo Court...NOTHING ELSE

Dont get me wrong... I hope we can't come to an agreement and our troops come home. But unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world. With the threats we face from terrorism we must rely on our allies to work with us in denying these terrorist groups safe places to operate. This is why we are having to work with many of the countries who have signed on to the ICC and it's intrusive nature. Europeans see the ICC much like we see a merger between big U.S. companies. We see it as a direct threat to our Soveriegnty and justifiably so.

Thank God we don't have Al Gore in office becuase he would be lobbying Congress to sign on to this Kangaroo Court

knak, please read the actual proposal. Minorities may benefit from it, but it is geared towards the poor. Also it is not a direct grant program; it is a cost reduction and easier lending program. You have fallen hook, line and sinker for the anti-Bush spin on the subject. I had a link to the actual Bush statement on another thread, but the article is now not at that link anymore. I'm sure it has to be on FR somewhere.
