you'll probably appreciate this as I hope lawgirl will.

After Mr. D. took the bar exam about 24 years ago the stress of waiting for the results was unbelievable plus he was putting in long hours clerking for a one man firm out of town (and hadn't yet learned the trick of calling his newlywed to say he would be late)

I was working out of town the other direction and would dutifully come home and sit and wait for hours. Finally the frustration got the best of me, a girlfriend suggested we stopped for a few drinks. We were having a great old time NOT KNOWING Mr. D. came home on time because he heard that the results might be there (but out of fear/superstition he didn't want me to know). This was pre cellphone, answering machine days, he was never home before 9:30 so I didn't bother trying to call him until then (their law office didn't answer the phone after 5:00 so I had no idea he wasn't there). The poor guy had a near perfect score was at home waiting for me since 5:30 and had no idea where I was....

On a bright note, he met us at a bar (out of town where I worked)and, not wanting to drive 40 minutes we really lived it up by renting a room at some dumpy hotel next door to the bar. A luxury for us at the time, and to this day when we can afford much better, I still love that little dump!

Forgot to add, I know you will have special special memories about where you were 24 years from now when you received "YOU PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS" letter from the Missouri bar. Ofcourse, rather than celebrating at a bar, we hope you will be celebrating on Free Republic!
