Have you ever been to a Lutheran school? I have, in fact, I attended Lutheran schools up until 8th grade, and Freemasonry was never described as anything but evil and made up of false prophets.
Right now, I attend a Missouri-Synod university, with the best Missouri-Synod pre-seminary program in the country. I have been in at least one religion class where Freemasonry was discussed and it was described in the same light.
I am not the only Lutheran who feels that Freemasonry is inherently evil.
When it comes to belief in God, there is only right and wrong, evil and good.
But since you brought it up, I will tell you that I have no respect for your brand of Lutheran interpretation because you once expressed here that you do not agree with a few of the longstanding traditions and practices of the church.
It is Lutherans like you that are causing problems in our synod and I dare say that the recent situation with Benke's rightful suspension is only controversial because there are too many Lutherans like you out there that just don't get it.
I have never heard that lodges were "evil"; only that they were not exclusively Christian and therein lies the problem.
Evil is your word and all but about three people here know what that's worth.
