I never stated that the Irish Mafia wasn't headquarted in New York. I am aware of Tamny Hall and all the sources I have read state that Jewish Organized crime really started with Rothstein.

Actually, I believe that it is virtually impossible to present an accurate history of organized crime in the U.S. And it's not for the lack of material, but quantity can never replace quality and that is the main problem. There is no exact date for when traditional Italian-American organized crime began in the United States.

Go see " THE GANGS OF NEW YORK ", when it comes out ; the book is far too difficult for you to read and comprehend, dear. :-) Of course, that movie won't really give you all that you need to know, but it just might be a start. LOL
