1. This action arises from a fraud perpetrated by directors, officers, and accountants of Halliburton Company, d/b/a Halliburton Energy Services (“Halliburton”) against shareholders of and potential investors in Halliburton securities and the integrity of the securities market.

I will readily admit that I am not a lawyer but how can "potential investors" be a plaintiff in a class action suit? Does that mean that I could have potentially bought a ford pinto and be awarded damages because I could have potentially been blown up? Now there is a novel idea.
