To: Right Wing Professor; rdf
You two might know the correct answer to this question.

Can a public official be impeached for high crimes or misdemeanors that occured before they were elected into their current position.

There is a split opinion on this. Your input would be great. Thanks.

Right Wing Professor is a smart guy not doubt but a chemist. Rdf is smart, but I think he would be annoyed to be called a lawyer. But maybe he has waded into this area of the constitution, although I tend to doubt it. But if he has, I certainly would value his opinion.

Not a lawyer. Sorry. My layman's two-bit opinion is that impeachment's a power of the legislature and can be used whatever way the legislature decides.
