You seem to assume that this is the most important exogenous event affecting Halliburton's financial furture that is likely to emerge. Some might not give it that level of importance, in which event whether to purchase of sell Halliburton must rest primarily on other considerations. As for myself, I simply don't buy individual stocks. I buy mutual funds for diversification, index funds actually, because of reasons I won't bother you with.
