12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."
Klayman bought NEW REPUBLIC and NATION mailing lists.
Does that tell you what Klayman is looking for?
I suppose it's accessible via the Hoan Bridge (WARNING: BRIDGE DISINTEGRATES BEFORE ROAD SURFACE)?
Klayman I suppose had best hope they weren't. Wouldn't it be awful if he'd slandered a good man with no evidence?
That is why Judicial Watch has chosen to step in, I believe.
He's trolling the socialists for dollars?!?
you believe... well do you know? I guess you are going to claim to be an 'accounting standards' expert now. How many classes have you had in accounting?
How about the people that lost money after the 'eww' filed his frivilous suit? Who's gonna make them whole. You gonna up your watch donations?
It is widely known that Richard Nixon had at one time discussed auditing his political enemies, but it never actually happened. However, under the Clinton Administration, it did happen. During the Clinton Administration, you of course know that Judicial Watch had filed a series of cumbersome lawsuits against either Bill and Hillary Clinton, or their corrupt political cronies. The IRS became the tool by which the Clintons used to attempt to intimidate and silence their enemies.
Do you believe that organizations should be audited because of their ideological beliefs? The American government should encourage the free-flow of ideas, not be an adversary of free speech.
Seriously?
Well that is very telling. Targeting liberals for dollars now that he's changed tactics.
If there was ever a doubt as to Larry's true intentions, well this clears it up for me.
I have as much of a right to comment on this current situation as you have to declare Cheney "Not guilty" before the trial or discovery has even begun. Ergo, I will state my beliefs as often as I like.
Huh...... It's a tax deductible contribution.... Yes little girl it is the IRS's business as to who takes those deductions..... After all isn't it the IRS with whom you file your tax returns..... Oh, you don't file yet, I see. How about ol' dad, who does he file with?
I take NATIONAL REVIEW and NEW REPUBLIC. I cancelled NATIONAL REVIEW, and my mailings from JW suddenly stopped.
My NEW REPUBLIC subscription has another year to run; I started getting mailings from JW again in April.
Larry lives and dies by mailing lists. I never sent him a dime on my NR subscription; I have to conclude that he has decided that a jihad against Bush will yield some fresh coin from liberal or moderate sources.
