12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

I don't think they can. I'm positive it has to be something done while in office.
Unless they go entirely insane.
To: Mo1; Howlin
That is because Congress CAN do this.
To: Torie
I am not sure felons are eligible to run, but I could be wrong. LOL>.....I was thinking along the same lines. I mean, they elected a dead guy.
To: Fred Mertz
What's the TPaine connection here? The connection is that I do not want to give you the same treatment I do to Tpaine, You are by all accounts a decent guy.

Hush.
To: Torie
I know that convicted felons loose their right to vote. And I highly doubt they can run for office, but the Constitution is silent on that matter.
To: Howlin
I do not know; I just know he resigned and made a deal with the prosecutors. It is a well known fact (AWKF) that legal clerk Hillary Rodham crafted briefs to convince Richard Nixon to resign or face an impeachment hearing that wasn't there.
To: Howlin
Tell you what, let me ask my Con. law professor. Will you settle for his answer?
To: FreedominJesusChrist
Judging from all your other posts, no.
To: Torie
I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just curious.
To: Fred Mertz
I was right with you until the words "that wasn't there." What do you mean?
To: Howlin
You believe what you want to anyway.
But I am pretty sure that I am correct on this matter.
To: Texasforever
You are by all accounts a decent guy. Which idiot told you that?
To: FreedominJesusChrist
As "pretty sure" as you are about Cheney being the defacto president of the United States?
To: Howlin
Nixon was hoodwinked into resigning.
To: Howlin
No, it is NOT. He was looking for CRIMES. And if he had found any, Clinton would have been charged CRIMINALLY because he wasn't in office when all that happened. Yes .. but the depositions were givin while he and hillary were in office
However, IMO the Senate had no plans on kicking Clinton out of office because then Gore would have been President

I am going to bed.
Good Night :)

It may be that they could. If still in jail however, the Veep might be installed until such time as the president was released. For some reason, I don't think this scenario will arise anytime soon.

"No, it is NOT. He was looking for CRIMES. And if he had found any, Clinton would have been charged CRIMINALLY because he wasn't in office when all that happened."And he could have been impeached for them too.
Good night.
