I was actually worried about this recently. I feel that I am in the formative stages of schizophrenia and I have often wondered if my heavy marijuana use in high school and college has led to it. Well, this clears it up a bit. Probably a good time for me to see a doctor.

from what I have been told by doctors, schizophrenia is a treatable disease on the front end. Apparently excellent prophylactic treatments exist for this horrible disease, but once you've suffered a true nervous breakdown the damage to your mind and body cannot be repaired.

check into this further, but I would imagine you should seek some treatment if you fear eventual onset of the disease.

as some consolation, most sufferers of the disease tend to exhibit symptoms during their twenties and thirties. I think that once you have past this age you are more or less in the clear as far as any risk of developing the disease is concerned.

please keep in mind that I'm not a doctor, and that this may be completely crackpot advice. If I am wrong about any of this, I hope that other FR members will correct what I have said.
