What do you make of it? It could still go two ways - upset could go toward suiciadal. Or - it could mean violent. Hmmmn - she just said forceful - what the heck does that mean?

Maybe she tried to get him to stop drinking and he shoved her away. Can't tell much by that since even people that drink often react different given the circumstances.
