Why would 4 reputible AFIP officers ruin their careers to lie about this out of the blue? Is it an elaborate conspiracy theory in itself? Maybe that evil Richard Mellon Scaife paid them all to lie and take a dive going against their superiors.
I'm not trying to get smarty, here, but that single question (the first question I ask above) alone seems to incite further curiosity, doesn't it? I would love to get back to you regarding ROn Brown, if I do get a chance (I'll be travelling for a week starting in about 4 hours, so it will be iffy). I have studied that affair fairly comprehensively, and even helped my sister put together a synopsis of it for a class she was taking.
