Static can set these bags off while they're filling . . . It happened to some kids I knew in high school and blew up the basement of a nice house, rearranging kids, walls, furnishings, tools, and foundation walls.

For those that don't have welding tanks laying around, try fluffing up a garbage bag, putting in about a quart of water and a half handfull of calcium carbide.

We use to take old milk cans, the big ones like farmers have, and drill a hole in the bottom. Put a quart of water in the can, toss in the carbide and recap. Prop the can up on its side and use a flaming rag on a looooonnnnngggg stick to set off the blow hole in the bottom.

The above instructions are very dangerous and will probably kill someone someday, if not put their eye out. Expect a noise like thunder at ground level and prepare for a long walk to recover the lid.

We're all more mature now and have moved on...

...to Spud Guns.
