For one thing, the mothers like to dress that way themselves. You can go out and see some 35+ year old woman dressed as if she is Britney Spears. They are not parents to their daughters, they are one of the girls. Just as the mothers don't want to be thought of as "not cool" by their daughters, they don't want their daughters to be thought of the same way by their peers. Believe me, it gets worse in college. I can't count the number of girls who show up FOR CLASSES in either pajamas, lounging pants, or flimsy tops with no bra underneath.

As a mom to 5 year old twin girls, all I have to say is that my daughters will not be wearing sleazy attire while they live in my household!!!!!!!

I'm very proud of the fact that my 5 year old girls do not want to have their tummies showing in public. One of my daughters was asking if they made 2 piece suits that cover her tummy. She wants a 2 piece because it would be easier to go to the bathroom with a 2 piece, but she is modest and wants her tummy covered.

I'm sure this won't continue, but I will encourage this.

This is one mom that will not allow it - my mom didn't allow it with me and her mom didn't allow it with her. And I don't really care what "the other kids" are allowed to do.
