God bless my wife for instilling in my daughter a sense of worth without that and common sense the idol worshippers of the world may have snatched my little one when britany spears hit the scene but now at ten my girl sees how smutty it looks to dress like tramp!

Your daughter sounds like my 16-year-old daughter; she's also.........ummm............let's say she's put together like Jessica Rabbit. However, she's a great kid with a really good head on her shoulders. She's VERY knowledgeable about fashions, etc., and is equally disdainful of the "hoochie mamas" at her high school (or the mall or wherever....). She dresses sharp, but conservatively. What the "young hookers" don't get is that young ladies like your daughter and mine actually get more respect and........consequently.........more of the
right kind of attention from boys.
What cracks me up is my little bombshell daughter has NO use for the boys anyway. She knows she can get such attention anytime, anywhere.......so she doesn't "need" it. She just says "nope; too busy with other things; not interested", smiles sweetly, and leaves 'em in a puddle. As a very protective Dad, I just love that...:)

I'm sorry but I don't see your point. I'm certainly not making any apologies for Hugh Hefner or any other the dirty old men who thrive in today's environment. Besides, the quotation to which you are responding isn't even my own.
and, BTW, what the heck is "men's liberation?"

Are you so naivete that you don't realize that there are predators in the world?

"What is wrong with these parents? "
And, that is where much of the problem lies, not all, but a significant amount.

"I could be wrong, but it seems to have gotten worse. I know so many women who are married to dysfunctional children. I didn't see this as much with my parents' generation. I wonder if it has to do with the rise in divorce rates or? "
Quite honestly, many men do not mature past the point where they discover they have sexual organs. Neither sex is taught to show restraint in their sexual urges. Sure, hormones are raging, but that doesn't mean drunken orgies are the high point of the day. To attain the higher meaning and happiness in life, discipline and restraint must be taught and followed.
If a person allows himself or herself free-reign to follow all urges, even the most important desires and needs become merely self-gratification. Self-restraint and discipline are necessary for maturity. You cannot become enmeshed with self-gratification and progress to the next level/rung. Each rung of the ladder must be climbed one rung at a time before you can reach the top. Yes, there are many immature men and women who are adults in age, but have not reached emotional maturity. Many adults are emotional cripples. Marriages suffer when kids marry kids.

Yes, the song/poem might be appropriate. But, I have turned down many offers because I was committed to a woman. Now, If I were single and in my teens, things might be different. I don't know. I have always been me, with my own outlook on things like life, love, and morality. Really, I have been on my own since a very early age.

You're acting as if it's ok for guys to want and enjoy sex, but like something out medieval time, it's a sin for women to.. Quarterback sleeps with whole cheerleading squad? Good for him. Cheerleader sleeps with anyone - she's a slut.
Yes, and this "double standard" arises from consequences of nature, and is essentially a correct and proper balancing mechanism.
Wake up and smell the reality.

It was 108 here yesterday and today. Time for me to go out and verify the truth in this article.

To: MileHi
And I noticed that my wife was really annoyed... I'm with your wife! I can't stand it when my husband enjoys the eye candy--and he knows it! But I did get amused Sunday night. My 17-year old daughter began her first college course on Monday. My husband, her stepfather, got to thinking about all he overhears the guys saying about the co-eds (he's a college professor). He pulled me aside in a panic and said, "You've got to talk to her. She doesn't know what they're like." LOL. These two have been teasing me for years that I'm a prude, but look who panicked!

Being the father of a 13yr old muscled up cheerleader, I have a keen interst in keeping her dressed decently. The kids she goes to school with are similiarly well built. Think brickhouses.
I just want to keep the some of the bricks under wraps!

"Just when did our daughters start dressing like hookers?"Since mankind started wearing animal skins.
In the early 20th century it was strumpets showing their ankles. In the '20's it was those shocking "Flappers".
Remember 2 piece bathing suits in the 1950's? How about hot-pants in the '60's? Anybody remember 11 year old Madonna wannabe's in the early '80's.
Every generation wants to shock the previous generation. It is human nature and will always exist. IMO the fact that the phenomenon seems to be realized by a younger age groups is directly related to TV. There is now instant access to worldwide opinion and pre-teens who do not have adequate supervision have the means to be affected by these not-so-rational influences. This will not end civilization as we know it but it does seem to be happening much too early in our children's lives.
