New York Senator Hillary Clinton blasted President Bush late Monday for waiting so long to tackle the recent wave of business scandals that have sent the stock market reeling and caused a crisis of confidence in U.S. corporations.
During a Middletown, N.Y. appearance, Mrs. Clinton complained that neither the Bush administration nor the Securities and Exchange Commission had "shown much leadership" as the corruption unfolded.
In a direct reference to the president's remarks during a Monday press conference, Clinton charged, "I don't think it is adequate to just say there are some bad people and that we're going to go after them," according to Middletown's Times Herald-Record.
"We need to go further than enforcing the laws that we've got because I don't think the laws are necessarily adequate," said Mrs. Clinton, who only recently escaped enforcement of laws prohibiting vote trading in exchange for presidential pardons.
Clinton was not asked about her own involvement in a suspicious 1980 cattle futures trading episode, which experts say also likely violated the law.
"We have got to stay ahead of all those natural impulses people have to take advantage of each other," she urged.
Mrs. Clinton delivered her remarks hours after a CNN/USAToday/Gallup poll was released showing that a majority of Americans say her husband's "moral failings in office" had encouraged business leaders to behave unethically.

As I recall, "the corruption unfolded" during the reign of the presidents Clinton, the Arkansas Trailer Trash Twins Deluxe. ;-)

It boggles the mind that this woman would continue to bash W. The Presidents popularity has caused even that creature Daschle to back off. I wonder if shes preparing her announcement. You know the announcement, "Im forming an exploratory committee........".
I dont think bashing Bush will get her back to the White House.

You know, Ms. Clinton appears to have her tongue tied in the middle and flapping on both ends...

No surprises. She's always for not enforcing current laws and making more laws instead. This way she never has to confront the truth. She never has to acknowledge that integrity, ethics and personal responsibility are critical components of a functional capitalist, constitutional republic. Things that she, Bill and the Democratic party do not offer. Then again, a functional capitalist, constitutional republic has never been her agenda. She should team up with Farrakhan.

Well, the witch has chutzpah, you can say that. It's sickening to watch these politicians rant and rave about courruption, waste, and fraud when the government is the biggest perpetrator of all three. Does this mean they're going to find out what happened to the billions of dollars that the government can't account for? I thought not.

"We have got to stay ahead of all those natural impulses people have to take advantage of each other," she urged. Sociopathic P.O.S. like her and her "husband" might have those urges, but normal folks do not.
