Related thread from late June: U.S. Fears Al Qaeda Cyber Attacks (A MUST-READ). It's worth thinking about (and reading the other article. The previous article mentions terrorists specifically targeting the power grid via the internet.

I'm puzzled that China isn't mentioned in these reports. I belong to a service called my NetWatchman, which collects and compiles attacks from members (DSL) through download of firewall logs, and in the past 24 hours, they tally 541 attacks from chinanet-xj.com, Beijing. The exploits include LRRing (Unix), RPC (Unix), FTP and DNS/TCP. The info is collected from 1164 users in 40 countries.

It's a neat service that works well with ZoneAlarm and BlackIce through a small well-behaved program. I'm not a techie, but the info is fascinating, and it's a quick way to find out what the cyber crazies are up to, and make sure you're protected.
