Welcome to the United States of Amexica! Here, have a chimichanga and enjoy your stay!

Surely not.
"...Support for a porous border and a loose migration policy occurs only on the Mexican side, not in the U.S."
One look at Mexico will explain better than a hundred paragraphs can...

This design for Aztlan will never get off the ground. Why do its proponents think that Mexico will cede its (present) northern territory? Even if the four claimed U.S. states become majority Mexican, they could not hope to secede peacefully from the U.S. Furthermore, the temptation for Mexican immigrants to assimilate into U.S. mainstream society is at least as strong as the temptation to be a part of yet another third world nation, especially inasmuch as large numbers of Mexican immigrants are scattered geographically throughout the U.S. rather than concentrated in the states of proposed Aztlan.
It is however possible that if the claimed states become majority Mexican, demand to join Mexico, and the Mexican government claim them, the U.S. could find itself in a very difficult position. This is a danger.
This muddled situation should be clarified now! Illegal aliens should be identified and deported. The border should be closed and protected with armed troops. Illegal aliens should not have benefits of citizens and should be deported if they try to claim them. And most importantly, "Liberal" politicians must be defeated at the polls and removed from positions of power.

Once any certain ethnic group is predominate, they will dictate the law and how it is enforced. It's who is on and in control of the land, not who say's it's mine.

Excellent reason to enforce our immigration laws. I say we have an old west round up and drive all the illegals back across the border.

Mexican immigrants are vastly preferable to Muslim immigrants. If given a choice, I'll take the Mexicans.I'm equal opportunity. I'll fight both groups with every fiber of my being if they invade.

There is nothing here that would dissuade me otherwise. There's the US military and untold millions of US citizens with plenty of guns and ammunition that would be happy to do a little reverse ethnic cleansing if the Atzatnuts ever tried to cleanse us out of the Southwest.

"There is obviously a large and significant gap between the attitudes of Americans and Mexicans," said Robert Goldsborough, AIC president.DUH!
The Mexicans want to come to the United States because it's so much better than Mexico.
I'm getting to the point that I'm almost in the isolationaist camp. Keep our nose out of other countries business and keep thier nose out of ours.

You must be thinking of a classic frontal assault. That isn't how it is happening. You are being cleansed right now in slow motion. Do a little research and read some articles by some of their more educated militant types. Heed some of Vincente Fox's policy pronouncements. Consider some of the voting reforms being put in place that allow Hispanics residing in our country to vote in theirs. It is happening all right.

I don't think Aztlan is the goal of the Mexican government, it seems to be something some Chicanos dreamed up and like to promote. Mexico wants access and control over the entire US especially federal money, Castaneda insists that they'll have the "whole enchiladad", Fox is clear that he's not limiting his plans to 4 states.

Are you simply talking about Mexicans "taking over" the Southwest in that they'll eventually outnumber US citizens of non-Mexican heritage in that part of the country, or are you alleging that they're going to do that and then simply band together and declare themselves an independent country?

Don't desecrate the flag like that. Tis not good, even in good fun.
To: Risa
Zogby's poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "the territory of the United States' Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Only 28 percent disagree, and 14 percent are unsure. Actually 58% seems like it might be on the low side. I wonder why our government doesn't care about the opinion of the US citizens in this, for some reason most of our politicians seem to be taking the same position as the majority of Mexicans.

I think you're right, Fitz, and these plans by these Mexican political leaders wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell if it were not for one thing: American "Liberals". They'll make it all possible. The Mexicans know this. They're betting on it. And if "Liberals" are not defeated and removed from office, the Mexicans just might get what they want. They know this too.

A-yep, I agree; it's not good. I fetched it off of these guys' website. Why don't you discuss it with them?
To: Risa
have they forgotten the Treaty of Guadalupe Hilgado....

I received a call from one of Zogby's pollsters a couple of weeks ago, and although the lady was quite polite, the questions' content and structure were troubling even to her, as she hardly understood what they were asking. In fact, she could hardly read some of the questions in a coherant fashion. The choices of answers were like if you agree totally with an issue, disagree totally, or have no opinion - which any in-between answers rendered a "no opinion" result.
It is no wonder the results are a bit skewed - they almost need a prop....

AMERICANS here of Hispanic origin In this area, the Americans of Hispanic origin are in the same boat as the non-Hispanics, they're being outnumbered by immigrants and driven out of the area by a fast-falling economy and rising crime rate. I have Hispanic friends who've had to have their children given strong medicine for months because they sat in a classroom with illegals with TB and that doesn't make anyone real happy about unrestricted immigration.

When Fox's fellow politicians campaign and set up voting places in the US, I doubt he wants those limited to 4 US states. He will demand rights to campaign in Chicago, NY, Alabama and the rest. He wants a one-way open border with full access to the US by his government ---all our social welfare programs and jobs, his citizens are not required to obey US law only Mexican law even while here, but Americans are still obligated to follow Mexican law and respect it's border.
