Of course the media doesn't mention (I had to hear it on talk radio) that the cop who slammed him down had a huge gash on his head as well as cuts all over his arms.

But I guess that would detract from a good liberal media racebaiting story

an allegedly retarded 16 year old boy,

He was called "emotionally retarded" this sounds like liberal BS speak if ever I heard it.

when they pull his old man over for a suspended licenses. He did not look like he was struggling at all, or taking any actions that warrented such a harsh response, when I saw the tape.

So how did the cop get the gash on his head and the cuts on his arms?

Yeah there are some cops who are pricks but there are a lot more minority apologists for criminals. And fools who are taken in by them.

It looked to me as if the (Hispanic) Corporal tried to stop the white cop from continuing the attack. I believe that the police should be able to use appropriate force to subdue a suspect, but gratuitously punching the kid is uncalled for.

We as citizens would be arrested for pursuing a perp and exacting revenge. Why should the cops not be held to the same standard?

Oh give me a break....and grow up

i don't see any blood on the cop

Wait and watch the video again you'll see it -- it's also being reported in the media --- wait longer and we'll probably learn the details of what this piece of sh___ did to the cop

I'm listening to the radio right now and this is the hot topic on a few shows -- what I am always surprised at is that the callers are all men and tey are all a bunch of sissies -- as a woman, I applaud these cops. I do not find their actions excessive in the least.

You (should) know as well as I do that if you were attacked on the street by a criminal and hit in the head to where it was cut open and slammed them down and punched them that even if a prosecutor did prosecute a jury would never convict.

My problem is with The Today Show's decision to lead its show with this incident, as if it were the nation's most newsworthy event.

Well, the Today Show is just following the lead of CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc., who have all been showing this friggin' video every ten minutes. It's sensationalism pure and simple, and they're just picking up on it. It's what everyone is talking about today. Now the networks have something else besides endless Elizabeth Smart "updates" to dumb up the public.

The ideologues like to think that civilization is such a hardy thing that they can just tweak with it to their heart's content. But really it shows just how fragile civilization really is.

It's especially fragile when so-called conservatives scurry to side with the Al Sharptons of the world. The criminal excusing agitators in the "black community" are making war on the police, and sadly some idiot pseudo conservatives rush to their aid whenever they can.

yeah he probably won't get rich, but he will undoubtedly get a Rodney King-get out of jail free card-from now on. Thanks to: the media, the "black community, liberals and conservatives who like to hate cops.

Read Ann Coulters book and you will see why it was a lead story - it has to do with the lefts' love affair with criminals and hatred of police. Anns book really nails 'em on this point.

Yeah sadly it seems some "conservatives" here could do with reading that book, since they would rather side with Al Sharton and the media and the criminals than the police.

Yeah, a few more of this kind of 'conservative' and JimRob will have to consider another marketing angle for FR.

It lead because they have no video of the notorious "Harkin Affair".

Police officers who cannot control their emotions are liabilities.

Agreed. The cop has to go...it's a business decision. He will cost the taxpayers too much money, if not through this incident, through future ones.

"The videotape showed a bloody gash over Morse's left ear. He also was cut on his elbow and knee, Irvine said."

Ah, yes, and the liberals are heard everywhere cheering at the gutless RINO appeasement.
