What I find particularly disturbing is using the threat of a lawsuit to halt the flow of information about this case. This is a new tactic, and one of the lowest I've seen so far. I guess getting threads, messages and accounts pulled is not enough for some people, so now this is the new thing? What's the matter, did people keep posting opinions disagreeable to certain factions here--despite all the thread, message, and account pulling?
Unfortunately, it's worked for some people. Some people left rather than put up with lawsuit threats.
Jim Robinson didn't like it when the Washington Post did it to him (and we all supported him in his struggle against them). Now I will say for all to read, I don't like it when someone is trying to pull this on another Freeper. Maybe you won this round TS, at least on paper. But there are other ways to tally winning and losing, and in some of those, you come up lacking.
Every day, I see a number of threads under the heading of "Caption This." What Fresno did is NO worse than what people write on the Caption This threads. In fact, Fresno's are just plain old vanilla compared to most!
Shame, shame on everyone who allows this kind of threat to occur on a place called, oddly enough, "Free" Republic.

Unfortunately, we lost pyx over this. I can see why some would be happy he's gone. There is going to come a day when only one opinion will be allowed. It's becoming very difficult to have a discussion about the actual trial. It's like someone or a group is constantly trolling the thread looking for something to be offended by. There are pages of posts and replies spent on the subject of an offended member. The testimony of the trial is forgotten which I suspect is the goal after all.
