The Associated Press Monday, July 8, 2002; 10:21 AM LOS ANGELES ?? An amateur video shows Inglewood police officers punching a teenager and slamming his head against the hood of a patrol car, and the department said it will investigate.
The probe was announced Sunday after the tape, taken a day earlier from a nearby motel, was turned over to police and local media.

I'm interested in hearing what these posters think after they've seen the video.

I take it that when you lose your temper you hit somebody, right?

Good one, S.P.

...almost unconscious...slammed his head onto the car hood so hard it bounced up and down like a beach ball.
If you are a real physician, your quality of expertise by a majority of those with 20/20 vision must be questioned.
"Almost unconscious" is your subjective observation at best from afar, since you admit your reasoning came from a televised bit of film. Doctors/physicians, regardless of speciality are trained in objective thought, not political correctness, as you have just exhibited by emotional comment.
For the "bounced up and down like a beach ball" comment, HEY, DOC, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FILL BEACH BALLS WITH AIR!
This punk's head bounced like an anvil in the Calipornia desert sands. Let me guess...your TV is mounted on springs in case of an earthquake?
This has become a waste of effort...Being stuck in one place, whether mental or physical is detrimental to your health, wouldn't you agree Doc?

What is the duty of a people living in a nation defined by the Constitution when they find themselves living in a police state?
To: HairOfTheDog
He slammed the kid onto the car with gusto...Watch the tape sometime before you empty the six-pack.

I take it that when you lose your temper you hit somebody, right? Never have... but I have never been hit. Well, not since 6th grade.
I am not condoning what I saw... The cop "needs a talking to", I said, and will repeat.
I see a human failing to keep his cool... and he took a potshot. We don't know why yet, and we will hear more, I am sure, ad nauseum. On its face I am not that worked up about it. I have seen abuse that there can be no tolerance of, and I have seen this. This just doesn't bother me that much. Its at the low end of the curve, and the cop is probably fixable.
If we freak out like this is equivalent to a prolonged beating with a billy club, then we have lost our perspective.
Enough happens in this country that I need to save "freak out" for special occasions, and this ain't it. I can't have the volume turned all the way up all the time.

See post #86.

Watch the tape sometime before you empty the six-pack.Don't make assumptions about me, I am sober as can be... but nice try.
To: EggsAckley
I'm not going to advocate police beatings, but I'd like to see the whole tape; not just a little portion of it. It may be legit, but I'm suspecting a leftist diversion trick like that old Rodney King episode.

I am sober as can be...I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.
My mistake.
To: HairOfTheDog
No need to freak out, the cop already took care of that. Still., it's the little things that shouldn't be tolerated that escalate to an FBI agent shooing an innocent kid in the face and the agent gets off scott-free.

Nice, name calling subjectiveness without a shred of evidence just to CYA.
Nice try.

Don't worry, I'm not offended.
But it's not like this is the second coming of Rodney King, is it?

"DOH!" Vidalia muttered, hitting his head, hoping his earlier, incorrectedly-addressed post hadn't gone through, making him look as foolish as he felt.
To: Vidalia
He is sure to accuse you of drinking now ;~D
Don't worry... We'll hold each other up.
