TLBSHOW, Howlin, I fight in public, not behind the abuse button.

You know better, Howlin. We've been through this before.

Admin Moderator, more than a year ago I went through a running fight on two separate threads with Howlin and her friends, in which one of her supporters told me "stop talking to me," then responded to one of my posts, and then pushed the abuse button on me when I responded to her.

I was told by the Moderator of the first thread to "stop bothering people," even though I didn't initiate any attacks, but only defended myself.

When the same thing happened the next day on a different thread, I decided that I had had enough.

I called the Moderator and pointed out that I was being ambushed, just like the day before. I pointed out that I was on a public thread, where everybody was allowed to respond to each other, and that telling someone to "stop posting responses to me," and then responding to my posts constituted a personal attack.

Moreover, it was a personal attack Icould gey banned for, because the ambushers had already told me to stop talking to them.

I told the Moderator then, from now on I will respond to a request to "shut up" as more serious than name-calling, talking about my mother, or even pointing out that she still dressed me funny. From now on, the one thing I wouldn't accept would be "don't talk to me." I won't call you to a thread if you tell me not to, but if you're on the same thread I am, you do not tell me to shut up.

We are on a public forum, where as long as we follow the rules we are free to respond to any post, not just the ones directed at us personally. Anyone who attempts to prevent me voicing of my opinion will be pointed out to the Moderator.

During that fighting, Howlin told me that she wouldn't respond to me unless I stopped using the line breaks I use to satisfy my finely honed aesthetic sensibilities.

I honored her demand. I had forgotten that pet restriction of hers, but she plainly remembered, as demonstrated by her polite request today that I stop pinging her, again pointing out that my formating irritated her.

I apologized to Howlin, and told her that I would watch my formating in any reply I made to her.

I was polite. I was gracious. Even though her anti-formating request said "don't talk to me," I considered the fact that it was possible that my formating hurt her eyes, I decided to honor her wishes again, as I had done in the past. I didn't call the Moderator, despite my previous promise to myself and to her that I would.

While making sure that my reply posted, I noticed that TLBSHOW had told me to "shut up," also. Two in a row was too much. I called the Moderator, and pointed out to both the Moderator and TLBSHOW that we were on a public thread, and that he was free to leave the thread if he found my views unpalatable.

When I worked my way down the thread, I found that less than a minute after telling me to stop talking to her, Howlin had shown her support of TLBSHOW's attack of me. This was AFTER she told me to stop pinging her, and before I apologized to her.

What am I suposed to do? That is the same method that Howlin and her friends used on me in the past. Tell me "don't ping me,"and then ridicule me without mentioning my name, while leaving no doubt that I was the target of the attack. When I respond to the attack, they hit the abuse button, pointing out that they had asked me not to ping them, and I am the bad guy who deserves punishment.

Howlin has tricked longstanding members of FreeRepublic into being banned with that method, as others on this forun can verify.

Admin Moderator, I want to point out again that this is a public forum.

I have just as much license to talk as TLBSHOW or Howlin, even if I use line breaks every eight or nine words. I am not the only one to use HTML formating, but I am the only one Howlin ever attacked for it's use. I no longer give her the benefit of the doubt.

It's not my formating she has a problem with, she doesn't like me. Fine, that's her right. I didn't find this thread by clicking on her profile, as you can verify through the tracking system that installs FreeRepublic's cookies on my computer. If for any reason you need my permission to verify that, I hereby give my permission.

One last time, this is a public forum.
If you don't want to respond to me, don't.

If you don't want me to respond to your posts, remember if you don't post anything, I can't respond to it.
