FAISALABAD, July 7: Jaranwala police on Sunday arrested a Pesh Imam and two others for instigating villagers to kill an American Navy engineer on charges of blasphemy.
Faraz Jawed (30), an American by birth whose parents are settled is the US, is here to see his in-laws in Chak 111-JB, Jaranwala.
On Friday last, he visited the village mosque to offer Juma prayers and objected to the Pesh Imam's political speech. At that time the Imam was cursing the Pakistan government and the Americans.
"Instead of blaming America, you should better tell us Islamic teachings," Fraz reportedly asked the Imam. The Pesh Imam did not like it. He asked people sitting in the mosque to kill Faraz. "He is also an American and enemy of the Muslims."
Faraz managed to escape from the mosque with his relative Mohammad Naeem. After the Juma prayers, Imam Hafiz Abdul Latif called village elders and asked them to punish Faraz.
Over four dozen people reportedly attacked Naeem's house where Faraz was present. Some of the attackers were also carrying iron rods, sticks and lethal weapons.
Naeem locked the doors and immediately informed the area police. A police party rushed to the scene and prevailed upon the mob on the assurance that Fraz would be proceeded against for committing blasphemy.
The mob dispersed after pelting stones on the house which damaged windowpanes. In the meantime, Faraz Jawed reportedly contacted the US embassy in Islamabad. The embassy reportedly took immediate note and asked the government to save the life of its national.
The Jaranwala police registered two cases against Imam of the mosque, Hafiz Abdul Latif, on charge of creating law and order problem in the area and instigating the religious feelings of the people and attacking the house of Faraz family. The cases against the Imam and a dozen villagers were registered under section 16 MPO and 295-A of Blasphemy Act, while the other case was registered under section 452 and 506 PPC.
The police arrested Hafiz Abdul Latif, Mohammad Asim, Zubair Usman and was making raids for the arrest of other accused involved in the incident.
Lets start with reason: The rule of law as the west knows it is based presently largely on British Common Law. Hence International law is based on Maritime law which is british in origin. There are more laws concerning the handling of cargo than the handling of international civil rights.
I'm an American, a man of time, an NOT an apologist. I beleive in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I believ these are "inernational and unniversal" rights.
As economics is the basis as illustrated in Maritime law of international law it is hypocritical on a global basis, or a "global crossing" to expect an individual whom is outside this country who is "vested" in the western economy to watch the "pissing away" of Billions and to see a politcial structure that protects these crooks. IT UNDERMINES INTERNATIONAL LAW! IT UNDERMINES INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE! When Ken Lay and Ebbers can enter our house of government and take the 5th while we hold foreign nationals without charge, the USA undermines international commerce, international law and international rights.
Thomas Aquinas stated that laws that are on the books and un-enforced create a "contempt for the law" in addition he wrote extnsively on the "contempt of the law" that is created when a two tiered justice exists.
Trying to understand the "legitimate greivances" of the Islamic radical who adheres to the ideas of the killers of Pearl (who are college educated economics majors) should not be contrued as being a "jihadi symp."
The growing number of world wide skeptics is increasing as yert another Billion dollar "accounting error" wipes out another dream based on earnings.
What do you say to the 2nd world individual who worked, payed taxes, took his earnings and invested, pay taxes on dividends, then to watch the US based crook go before our congress or senate and take the 5th? Sure the NY AG can file suit on behalf of NY gov pension employees, but what of the 2nd world investor?
The basis of a fair deal in international discourse is based on clear and concise accounting language and transparency. In lieu of this clear and concise language there is a creation of confusion, misunderstanding, and conflict.
The Worldcom EXECS being in jail is just as important if not more so than the "neanderthal 3rd world peasents" in Cuba, the Worldcom EXECS should know better!
There should be an international court to hold trial on Worldcom as their crimes have international ramifications.
There should be a world court to hold trial over Pinochette, Milosovec, Sadam, and other "petty tyrants" who undermine the "rule of law."
The world is not small enough to ignore the reality of the National Security Interets of Oil, we live in a global economy, so when is the USA going to become a responsible member of the global community?
Don't like getting ripped off in the market? Want the B&E kid in the neighborhood to go to jail? Tired of the mugger at the ATM?
Lets call the terrorists "murderers." Lets say as a "unniversal right that you have a right to life."
The case is clear for the murderers. They violated international law and you cannot find a court that will not find an individual guilty of flying a jet into a building purposefully and killing thousands.
The real point is this. We don't have the desire to hold accountable our crooks. Ebbers just sneered at the people he controlled and bought, the congress, sec, doj, senate, and potus are helpless as their corporate handlers make a mockery of international law and the rule of law.
When the rule of law erodes internationally you have war.
And I'm a patriotic American with a healthy respect for the rule of law.
Maybe as a gesture to the world we should convict a CEO before announcing formal charges against the terorists.
My honest opinion, if they were uniformed combatants who took up arms against their own populace, they are in violation of international law and crimes against humanity.
Internationally we are helpless against the corporations unless as nations we are vigillante to ensure that no nation is bought and sold and "exploits and loots it's populace by a well funded corporation."
That same concept was what the US was based on before global realities were forced upon us. I as a citizen vow to protect your civil rights under the expectation that you would reciprocate in recognizing my civil rights.
The acounting irregularities are not an oversight, but instead a "curtain thrown over the eyes of justice" where it becomes aparent that the expectation of "reciprocal just treatment" is obscured.
Never lump me in with murderers, nor corporate thieves.
I find both to be criminals against humanity.
Saddam as an example gased Kurds and "remains guilty" he violated laws against humanity when he burned oilwells, nobody has the right to piss in the village well or evoke bio-war.
The Terrorist murders stand guilty as charged in the international community, so do the CEO's, and so does Saddam.
I believe it is a reality we live in a global economy, and I believe in the rule of law.
See the above post.
Exactly.
Yeah, right.
Just shows how useless a college education can be sometimes, even if, as is Omar, a graduate of the London School of Economics.
What's the difference between a Religion and a Cult?
I still have the chit.
Anyway the question arises: "how can this happen?"
Well my negative slant on the experience exposed me to NWO, Zionist, and other "views" of that phenomenon and trading loss, I was stomping the OEX with puts.
I have modified my beliefs and have yet to come up with a better proposal, mind you... I disagreed with the Tax Cuts, went to cash in 1999 and still have it all, and know that "some elements" of the dogma of Islam on personal finances makes good common sense.
But then there are idiots like you.
I understand both worlds, but my thing is this: Nobody twists my arm to trade or gamble. I have the "right" to pay off my bills and consume responsibly. Taking away that right of a dynamic economy is not religous piety, it is stupidity on equal par with running up a credit card bill buying furbies.
Nooo I'm here to piss "EVERYBODY" off, Islamic knucklehead, Korporate THEIVES, and crooked cops and politicians.
Look I just tell the truth as I see it....
The US economy is a "perfect instrument" it tells you everything you want to know if you ask the right questions. It displays through "PUTS" foreknowledge, or the "dumping of stock" that foreknowledge was known, ask Martha.
The US economy was not designed to be a playground for Rich White Anglo Saxon Protestant thieves to do evil, it is much more nobler than that... though that it is difficult to tell right now.
And Islam has some good tenets in the religion but again @holes abuse that as well.
Some day, One day, my world view will be adopted. The world gets more inter-dependent and smaller all the time.
Some day, One day, there will be a jail and cells for those who commit crimes against hummanity, it is not a matter of if but when.
That day will be a better tomorrow.
It was unfair to be right... see the corruption and bet correctly, and then lose 28K as the fed bailed out the crooks with my SS money, it sucked... and the argument I offered was unpopular as from a utilitarian standpoint the mass media wanted its cake and treat it also.
Well let me say this: I sold in 1999, and did not lose any more money and know that it is a rigged game.
I live in a world of what is, and write of what should be.
It's not a religion rather a Totalitarian Socio-Pollitical Ideological Domination Paradigm with no space for others masquerading as a religion for tactical reasons to achieve its strategic objectives of an Islamic World Order.
"I sold in 1999"
Good for you.
"some elements" of the dogma of Islam on personal finances makes good common sense"
Got any of those particulars handy? There's the concept of no interest and others, i'm sure, please share them.
The essential point is, that distilled pure Islam brooks no dissent. Period. There's no concept of tolerance as a principle, rather as a whim, merely a generous benevolence bestowed by the Islamic Rulers upon the unbelievers.
Sort of like those exploding bobble head Osama fireworks?
Could you please source that ?? thanks
