You are being naive. Whenever Clinton perjured himself, suborned perjury or in some other way abused power, the response was, ``the economy is great, so it doesn't matter.'' The zeitgeist that created made it more possible for the Enrons and others to happen. The attitude wwas, ``as long as things are going well today, we don't need the rules.'' Of course, all the people involved in illegal activities made their decisions on their own, and have no excuse, but you underrate how much of an impact on society this can have.

The people who committed these crimes are responsible.

I lived through the Reagan years. I lived through the Clinton years. I was responsible for my own actions during both.

Did you behave yourself better under Reagan and worse under Clinton? Or were you somehow immune to the corrupting zeitgeist?
