"USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll conducted June 28-30 found that 76% of Americans believe big business has too much influence over decisions made by Republicans in Congress. Nearly as many -- 64% -- think the same of business sway over Democrats."

This in itself is VERY good news for the GOP. It essentially neutralizes one of the biggest attack points the Dems have always relied upon to scare voters: The old "Republicans only care about Big Business, but we care about the little people" BS canard. Just a couple of years ago that Democrat number would have been more like 25%, not 64%. Now that the public pretty much thinks both parties are too close to corporations, it's a meaningless issue, and the electorate will only use other criteria to determine who to vote for. This is another huge disaster in the making for the RATS.

his own lack of character and honesty gave a green light to others to do the same freely.

Look at the kids in the public schools. He's managed to turn them all into Monicas!
Oprah had young teens on her show once explaining the oral sex clubs in the public schools.
Oprah asked them if sex is good for kids their age.
They said Clinton said it wasn't sex, and if it's good enough for a president, it's good enough for them. "Even the president of the United States does it."

Asking people if Clinton's "moral failings" inspired grown men to indulge in criminal accounting schemes?

Chauvenist pig.

They can blame who they want for the accounting scandals, prosecution is the responsibility of this DOJ. So far I've seen nothing but pre mid term election noise

Andersen was prosecuted rather rapidly.

Hmm . . . National Public Radio (aka National People's Radio) went to great lengths this morning to "prove" that the Republicans will be punished for Enron, etc., in the fall elections.

"...we better see some prosecutions of the criminals, and some firings of those tasked to expose them sooner."

My thoughts exactly...

"Treason and High Crimes"
(To be sung to the Outlaws' "Green Grass and High Tides")

It's a place your children dream of, where great men once led the free...
Ol' Abe Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Washington each graced the seat...
FDR, Kennedy, and Jefferson once served the office with pride!
But now we've got Slick Willie bangin' young interns...
Left-Wing tells us, "Let it slide..."

Well, Clinton's been a damned disgrace, spy stories all ring true...
If you say, "It's all Okay!", what does that say 'bout you?!

Med'yuh refuses to ask tough questions, as though Slick were King.
But patriots cannot believe in Bill,
'Cuz Slick's sold his soul to Beijing!! Left declares...

"Treason and high crimes don't matter!"
Good DemocRATs fallin' from glory...
Still, Lib'rals say, "We adore you!"
Left's King's a freak...good folks abhor you-oouu!!

(Guitar Jammin')

Those who don't fight Evil find their souls have been sold cheap...
Numb poltroons can't see how Power has warped Ol' Slick Willie!
Crimes and Slime define their WHORE, they take up all his time.
We'll Re-Impeach, then Slick will do his prison time...
Right'll force him there!!!

Treason and High Crimes will be proved...
Will DemocRATs follow Slick blindly?!
The Left-Wing says, "We adore you!"
Election's soon...voters will show you-oouu!
Yeah...the Right'll slaughter you-ou-ou-ouuu...!!!

(Mo' Guitar Jammin' to Fade)

Thanks you two for bringing this thread to my attention. What GREAT news! The American are at times led astray by the manipulations of a devious media which has an agenda that it promotes, but Americans are NOT stupid. And they aren't buying the tripe that the media is pushing right now. Hehehe! Does my heart good!

I wonder if any of this would have happened without 9/11. I've been thinking quite a bit about that lately.

So have I, and I think you are on to something.

I've been a welder, and sometimes you have to whack the h@ll out of a steel plate to knock the rust off and get to the sound metal underneath.

Dare we hope that these same people remember that Hitlery fully was HALF of the team of rodents which infested 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for 8 dreadful years when she makes her vaunted run for the job in '04 or '08?

but...but....NOW claimed she was just a victim of her husband. Why, "poor Hillary" had no idea!
Even Rosie hates immoral Clinton for what he did to "poor innocent Hillary."

"Rubin was a primary beneficiary in the pump-and-dump scheme of the 90s. Sheesh....GoldmanSach made out like a bandit!"

Excellent point!! Has Rubin's role in this been exposed and I have just not seen it?! Does anybody have a good article/thread or two on Rubin's Corruption in all this?

As much as this poll is good news, I don't like the assertion that Bush is part of it at all.

Like it or not, it just plays into the whole mythology that the GOP is only out for the rich and big business. Lots of people believe that (hopefully fewer and fewer as time goes on).

A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll ? FOFLOL. I may have to watch CNN today just to see Judy Woodruff's face as she reads these numbers.

I read some comments on how much George W. Bush loves children, as compared with xlinton, who didn't care about them at all, except for photo ops.

My comment to that was, that not only did the debauched one not like kids, but he corrupted them and infected them with diseases.

He's going to pay for what he did. If not here on earth, when he stands before a HOLY God in judgement of his deeds. "To whom much is given, much is required." He was given power and authority, wealth and fame, and he used them for his own gain, and to satisfy his own lust, at the expense of an entire nation. He will pay.

How 46% of the people could think that Bush was responsible for actions of businessmen which occurred BEFORE he came into office is beyond me. It tells me that there are a LOT of stupid Dems and independents who are buying the Dems lies. Only the most die-hard, and stupid, (Oops, redundancy. Sorry) Dems ought to be agreeing with such a stupid fable.
