Gallup Stunner: Americans Blame Clinton for Business Scandals

Despite a coordinated Democratic Party-media push to pin blame for the recent wave of corporate scandals on President Bush, a majority of Americans currently blame ex-President Bill Clinton for the business corruption that has sent the stock market reeling and caused a crisis in confidence in corporate America, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.

51 percent of Americans surveyed agreed that President Clinton's "moral failings in office" contributed to the permissive climate that encouraged corporate leaders to behave unethically.

Of that number, more than half, 26 percent "strongly agreed" that Clinton was partially responsible for the business scandals. The rest, 25 percent, "moderately agreed" the ex-president deserved blame.

When asked the same question about President Bush, only 15 percent "strongly agreed" that he set a climate that encouraged corporate corruption. 31 percent "moderately agreed" with the same proposition, for a cumulative total of 46 percent - five percent less than those who blame Clinton.

Another stunning development: President Bush's approval ratings have actually improved in the weeks since the Democrat-media complex began shifting blame to Bush.

The CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll put Bush's overall job approval at 76 percent - up six points since early June.

"This result alone suggests that the president has been untouched by these scandals," Gallup said.

Gallup surveyed 1,019 adults over the age of 18 on June 28-30. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent.

Let's not tell them. Keep it a secret. Xlintoon's insistence on legacy building and outright hogging the media outlets will complete his true legacy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Slick's legacy will be the destruction of the Demoncraps. He's doin' an excellent job. Do they really think that sticking his face on the news every week will do otherwise.

Keep it up. Show us his latest floozy in Australia. Give us his excuses for a horrible round of golf in Sweden. Yep! He's really revered {sarcasm alert}.

Bill and Hillary, DUMB and DUMBER!

Watched Law & Order, Special Victems Unit, last night, and they were talking about how the kids did not think oral sex was sex, and where did they get that idea. The woman detective replied that you could blame X42 for that. Hopefully, times, they are a'changing.

When Clinton was in office, I was continually dismayed at how every day the moral goalposts appeared to be lowered and how tolerant the public seemed to be of this lowering...now I am comforted that many are understanding what was lost, and maybe it can be regained.

Hollywood and the liberal media create an illusion of reality in the minds of the viewers through visual and audio.
For example: Homosexuals are less than 1% of the population, mostly in California and liberal cities. If you watch TV, you'd assume it was more like 50%, if not higher.
A poll on working mothers said 70% of those who worked wished they could stay home and raise their own children. Now see what the liberal media and Hollywood show. Just the opposite!
90% believe in God, yet the liberals in charge of the airwaves make them look like religious zealots!
90% believe abortion is murder, but fear the may need it to save their marrage or life someday. Has anyone heard the media discuss this? Nope!
It's all an illusion that the country is as the liberal media portrays it.
Most people are afraid to speak out because they feel they're the oddballs, but only because Hollywood and the media make it appear that way. Actualy, those who speak out are the majority.
Almost everyone who has ever run on a conservative ticket has won. Why? Because that's the real America. People have been led to believe otherwise, that's all. When someone speaks out publically, the media and the left freaks, but the people cheer!
FOX has gained a huge viewer audience. Rush has his huge following, Bush approval ratings are still high, and religion is gaining power.
The media and Hollywood are starting to go nuts. Tom Cruse is leaving, and I'm sure it's because America is winning.
The brainwashing is losing it's power. Let's keep up the good work of exposing them every chance we get.

Human behavior can be very strange...to us it may not matter much, but moral leadership really does affect the country. Look at the statistics oh High School kids that engaged in oral sex as a function of Date. It spiked _ALOT_ when the whole Lewisky(sp?) scandal was going on.

I don't think that it is so much that the people are smart, as they don't want anyone to mess with a good thing. They trust Bush to handle the terrorism, which is their main priority.

It is the same thing that was going on under Clinton. Clinton convinced alot of people that the economy was the most important issue and that he was responsible for the boom. They didn't want anyone to mess with that either, so they defended Clinton. Now that the boom has proved to be more of a bubble, they are willing to take a second look at the Clinton transgressions.

"Just silly."

Maybe. I agree it is a stretch to blame these business shenanigans on Clinton's influence, but the Dems pull this crap all the time. Remember how the responsibility for the murder of one man - Matthew Shepard - was laid at the feet of every traditionalist Christian in the country? As Anne Coulter pointed out, this one murder somehow represented a vast cultural trend, but when conservative books top the New York Times best seller list, it supposedly signifies nothing.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I found the statement above...especially the phrase, "Democrat-media complex" rather stunning. Kinda like the Military Industrial Complex...

The DMC is how I will forever refer to CNN/ABC/NBC/CBS..et al. Ha!!
