I *think* I was vaccinated for Smallpox upon entering the military in 1988, although not sure, I do know they continued vaccination in the .mil long after ceasing in the civvie world.

Initially in the post 9/11 confusion, the CDC and other experts stated that the side effects were too dangerous -- anywhere from 1 to 6 people per million vaccinated could die..

The last I recall being vaccinated was at Travis AFB in '67 just prior to being jetted to Thon Son Nhut (Saigon). I remember they stopped vaccinating soon after that. I might be wrong tho'.

As opposed to 1 in 3 that die from an actual smallpox infection. I like the odds of the vaccine, thank you very much.
