Then, just out of the blue, CBS said that he had to say something like this because Bush himself was involved in his own "insider trading" scandal 10-12 years ago. Just out of the blue, reported as if it's an accepted fact, CBS mentions this, with no more follow-up.
Oh, of course the followup was Daschle saying that Bush should ask the SEC to release these Harkin Energy records to clear the air. I guess to clear the air that CBS is fouling with their desperate attacks--attacks that were timed on cue to provide some context and some credibility to Dashole's attack of the week.
I've sold oil tools to Harkin Energy in South Texas. No Texas oil driller had and has a higher reputation than Harkin. I'm not saying that those good ol' boys don't do a few good ol' buddy favors for each other, but this is such an idiotic item to dredge up. George W. has nothing to fear if the media does any kind of a full report about the oil drilling industry in Texas and Bush's role in it.
If you live in a state that has such an industry it is your goal in life to gain a foothold in it when you come of age to go to work. It is "the living" of your native territory. Should we condemn Bush because he was involved in what PC liberals attack as such a greedy, capitalist, evil industry as "big oil" when he's FROM TEXAS???
