US came very late into World War II and Britain already had fought its two major battles without them.

Rest assured. Had we not entered the war, the UK would be part of Germany and Australia part of Japan. Besides by the time we "entered" the war, we had built at least half of the RAF's aircraft, and had supplied most of the fuel and ammo the Bits had. I know my fellow Americans, we would do it again in a heartbeat.
