He parrots back what he's heard quite well, but no real thought. He fits right in with the rest of un-FreeRepublic.
So long.

Hey, rocks are hard & grass is green. It's un-intelligent to discuss differently. And the author's insight to Alexander Tyler's theory of why democracies fail is what should have been ENDOCTRINATED in the minds of all school children versas the total liberalism seen today. I'm ready to see him president in 24 yrs however karl marx ghost will probably be the leader.

I agree; this kid shows no ability other than that to regurgitate what he has heard and seen. Automatically associating liberalism with everything bad about government (or conservatism with everything good) only obscures the issues of the day for the cool-headed. This kid's parents must be real hot-heads.

and you are a typical "no real thought here, shoot the messenger" type.

Excellent article! A very thoughtful read that goes beyond the knee-jerk descriptions of liberalism and analyzes the motivations that spawn it.

It's amazing our politicans rant about the great "democracy" of America. Democracy is the tool of the statists, our founders were well aware of this.

What is the problem, Libertarian? Can't stand a little truth?
To: nofriendofbills
That's a pretty uncalled for way to talk to or about a 13 year old who's doing his best.....and damn good at that. I know he's more astute than I was at his age and judging from your posts..better than you as well I would guess.

"What makes a liberal a liberal?" I think of a man and take away reason and accountability.

I keep reading this, and I still don't know why it appears with such frequency; America is a democracy, as well as a republic. Why? Because a republic is a kind of democracy, one that works through representative votes and assemblies. Democracy is a more-abstract government term that means the rule of the people; that's it. A republic builds upon that idea and applies it to the real world.

i agree with you. i had the pleasure of talking to kyle in agitator's chatroom last week. what a sharp young man!
