thanks. Interesting. In my experience, fat stays on with high carbs, also with ATkins, but moderately hi-pro low-carb Zone works perfectly.

One of the best things about this article is that it leaves those who are poised to sue the food industry for wrecking everyone's health and causing diabetes, cancer, etc., now faced with the FACT that the gubmint itself has set out the high-carb guidelines that are probably causing the obesity epidemic. The liberal idiots (probably overweight) cannot convince anyone that the government should regulate the food industry when their very own food pyramid guidelines are the cause of the worst problems in history. And federally funded beaurocracies like NIH have refused to fund research on efficacy of various diets.

PETA and other vegetarians must be grinding their molars over this article from the leftie NYT.

Right back. I have a sirloin thawing.

Some of us "UN-PC" Country Docs have LONG been telling our Patients to Exercise & eat "What their Bodies Tell them to Eat!"

The Human organism has survived for MANY Millenia!--there Has To Be a "Built-in" homeopathic Mechanism that tells us What We Need to Eat!!

ALL of our "Nutritional Science" is STILL in "Catch-up-Mode" when dealing with Human Physiology!

As an elementary student in the 80s, we were thoroughly doctrinated to the Food Pyramid.

''What right,'' Handler asked, ''has the federal government to propose that the American people conduct a vast nutritional experiment, with themselves as subjects, on the strength of so very little evidence that it will do them any good?''

This article defines precisely why government sh-theads should stay out of the lives of the citizenry. Their "lowfat" dietary push has essentially killed off millions of people by inducing higher obesity and heart disease.

This could be a campaign issue. After all, Gore and Clinton said GOP environmental policy was killing children and old people. Perhaps we should suggest that Liberal dietary policies have killed millions.

I thought it worth repeating. You might also want to read post 269...

The liberal idiots

Having read post 269, we don't here "conservative idiots" in government pointing out the 3,000-laws-a-year fraud. All the problems of government are not caused by liberals. Saying or implying that it's all liberals fault is not only false it degrades the argument against smaller government. I'm surprised more people don't comprehend that. Actually, the people that aren't into discussing politics do understand it when given unbiased account of government. The 3,000 law argument hits home more with them because they're not hung up on politics. It's as if they inherently know that politics is the problem and not the solution.
