Well, we'll just have to call it a draw there because I agree with you. The Army aint the Marines.
I will admit to setting you up here a bit.
Unless I missed it, no one has posted the mission of the Army rifle squad.
What is it? Is it on paper somewhere? It was -stressed- to us: The mission of the Marine rifle squad "is to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver and to repel his assaults by fire and close combat."
Now the mission of the Marine Rifle Platoon is:
"to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver and to repel his assaults by fire and close combat."
And the mission of the Marine Rifle Company is:
"to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver and to repel his assaults by fire and close combat."
the mission of the Marine Rifle Battalion is a little different. It is:
"In cooperation with other arms, to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver and to repel his assaults by fire and close combat."
See a pattern there? :)
