The plane is a twin, I believe it's a Cessna 310. 182 is a small 4 passenger high wing single engine.

The N-number will give you the owner on the FAA website. I think I can read it, so I think I know who the owner is. In case I'm mistaken, I won't post it here. IF I've read it correctly, it's privately owned by a partnership in a nearby California city. Registered owner just an ordinary American name. Just a horrible accident (it's awful to have to say that) not terrorism. Takeoff is when fuel and engine problems usually manifest themselves.
