I don't think putting up concrete posts at the entrance is making an airport a fortress. I shop at Best Buy quite often, and they have these posts set up so people can't drive thru the glass doors, steal expensive stuff, then split.
One gunman walking inside will kill a couple of people. A car plowing thru the glass and exploding will kill far more.
