The news reader on Headline News, Patti Tripathi, just reported,unequivocally, that authorities said this was not an act of terrorism. CNN continues to insist that this was an isolated incident, a mere inconvenience to travelers.

Sounds like Richard Reid, all over again. Wonder what mosques this guy attended.

The Israeli Shin Bet is calling it an act of terrorism: (Shin Bet believes shooting is terrorist!)

There had been no intelligence warning of an attack by any organization on an Israeli target in the U.S., but the way in which the attack took place, its location and timing, seemed to point to terrorism. Unless proved otherwise, that is how the Shin Bet decided to regard it.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but KNBC in LA just reported that the shooter was an Egyptian. They are reporting that the man, who has two aliases and two birthdates listed, was 41 and had been in the US since 1992.
