It is terribly sad that not everyone is pure.... My father met women in bars. His favorite past times were drinking beer and flirting. He excelled at both. Didn't make him a loser, despite what you think of people who do that. Actually in the end it came as quite a comfort, after he died, the number of people he met in bars and such that he knew who were sincerely distraught with his passing.
The parallel you draw for David is uninformed fueled largely by a slanted media machine. He's the only one who doesn't seem to get the benefit of the doubt and not just on FR.

I know all too well the bonding that can go on in bars..everyone's a happy family. "CHEERS"...to refer to the sitcom. But can we deny the pain that selfish alcoholics can cause? No....even what's his name..NORM stayed at the bar instead of going hom to wife.. (personally, I couldn't stand the show..had to suffer through it after the news cuz hubby wanted to see it sometimes) I do remember the posts written about bvd and her friends going to bars instead of staying home. I don't think ALL people who go to bars are bad.. I just find that those who are regulars tend to not be able to "entertain themselves" with more wholesome activites.

"The parallel you draw for David is uninformed fueled largely by a slanted media machine."Actually, I'm starting to suspect that one can meet much nicer people in bars than on message boards on the internet. In some cases, probably more intelligent, too--even when falling down drunk.
