Consider this: Maybe BARB didn't leave. Maybe Denise took the car and drove home (they lived together, right).

Barb drunk. Denise doesn't want to fiddle with taking her home (carrying her inside the house)
Barb crashes somewhere in the house.
Damon wakes up to let the dog out to pee, finds it has torn up it's bed.
Damon finds Barb in Danielle's room, on top of her. Danielle has been suffocated by the drunk Barb.
PANIC TIME.
Damon gets the body out of the house, into his van, and goes and hides it somewhere.
Brenda is too snockered to wake up to anything.
