Not in enough time to save those dying from the new AIDS. We haven't even developed a VACCINE to prevent AIDS due to the fact that as a retrovirus its one sick slippery bug that mutates every so often which makes finding the right vaccine to stop it practically next to impossible to invent. This same characteristic of AIDS is why current treatments that are designed to extend the lives of the victims are slowly losing their potency. We're talking about a pandemic that makes the Black Death look like a Sunday stroll in the park.

We're talking about a pandemic that makes the Black Death look like a Sunday stroll in the park. Big difference here - AIDS is almost 100% preventable.
