New Untreatable Form of AIDS Virus Discovered in Los Angeles (10,000+ infected in San Francisco)
Pravda English Wire ^ | 7-2-2002 | Timothy Bancroft Hinchey

A new form of AIDS has been discovered in Los Angeles, one which is untreatable.

Reasearchers have warned of the appearance of new strains of HIV, which due to patients abusing treatment programmes, have developed into super viruses which do not react to tradtional retroviral treatment.

It is claimed by the National Institutes of Health and the University of California that these super viruses are spreading fast in San Franciso among both the heterosexual and homosexual communities.

The reasearchers blame the attitude of average Americans for the current situation, stating that people have stopped taking the disease seriously and have ceased to practice safe sex.

Also therapies with drugs are not being respected, with patients in many cases beginning treatment and suspending during its course, making the virus multi-resistant to future therapies.

The researchers also claim that tens of thousands of people living in San Francisco have the new virus and that it is the new, multi-resistant strain of the virus which is passed on.

Given that California was one of the first focal points in the worldwide AIDS epidimic, it would be logical to assume that the same phenomenon will appear elsewhere in the coming years.

Given that the HIV virus is the one of the fastest to mutate, this seems like more of a certainty than a possibility.

Apparently, lesbians don't fornicate quite as vigorously as homos do.

Then why haven't any lesbians gotten it from sex?

How long before the whole 'gay' community collectively wins the Darwin award.

"I think 'treatable' here means extending the life of the patient so that the virus is permentantly stunted.

But the patient still lives with it inside him/her"
<> YEah, kinda like the movie ALien. It is just waiting to bust out. The only treatment for AIDS is death so far. It is a malady that is still capable of being spread by those being (so called) treated. Anyone with AIDS should be quarentined. It is the only safe way to treat it.

I just finished reading The Coming Plague by Laurie Garrett, which has a big section on AIDS. Gaetan was not Patient Zero, despite popular belief.

Yes, of course the heterosexual communities are included in this alert.

But why?

I am so tired of this lie being trotted out every time the queers need more money. It's the needle using heterosexual that need to be warned, not the NORMAL average American. What's that figure: 95% of us.

Just a couple of years ago every major news organiazation ran stories detailing the fact AIDS has crossed the line between the queers and the straight.

Nobody was safe anymore from a disease which someone gets strictly on the basis of their BEHAVIOR. ???????

I commend you for an intellegent response. You are correct. When AIDS infected individuals began receiving the "cocktail" drugs, most were able to return to a more active lifestyle, thus they began having unprocted sex.

Not only that but even for those who were only having sex with other men with AIDS were helping the disease mutate.

Let me give an elementary example of how I understand it.

Example, if "Fred" were on drugs A, B and C and Jack was on drugs B, D and E and they passed the virus to each other, Fred's virus would now be resistant to medicine B and Jack's virus would be resistant to medicine B. Now the cocktail of the two different combinations will work on neither of them and when Jack goes on to have sex with Joe who is on medicine E....well you get the picture.

This is not a "new" virus, just mutated and becoming resistant after almost a decade of the newer drugs, giving them time to become resistant and for the virus to mutate and spread.

Back in the early 90s they also discovered there were at least two different strains of HIV (HIV-1 and HIV-2)...

Quarrantine.

That was my argument 20 yrs. ago.
Set up a community, give the first few thousand almost anything they wanted. Just keep them out of the population.

NOOOOOOOOOOO, we can't do that ! We must respect their 'rights'.

So instead of inconveniencing a few, we sign the death warrant of many.

Typical governmentthink.

Tha being said how long before some disgruntled AIDS patient takes to sticking complete strangers with an infected needle in order to give those that wouldn't normally be at risk the virus?

That has already happened.

We had a case a few years ago here in NC. A local dentist ,AIDS positive , used a contaminated needle to give novacaine shots. He infected several patients. He died shortly thereafter.

True. The "greatest" thing that could happen........in the eyes of the activist gay community............would be for AIDS to suddenly become rampant in the heterosexual (aka "breeder") community. Misery loves company, does it not?

God created AIDS as an effective treatment of homosexualiy and other undesirable activities.

UH only took him a few thousand years to devise this cruel "treatment"? I hear the new motto of the Catholic Church is three tykes and you're out....

**"Uh huh. If people only practiced prevention. I wonder if the gay leaders will finally get the word out for people to stop engaging in unsafe sex."**

Could you please define "safe" gay sex?
